This is Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

Here's a little poem for this fine Autumn day!

To Autumn by William Blake

O Autumn, laden with fruit, and stain'd
With the blood of the gape, pass not, but sit
Beneath my shady roof; there thou may'st rest,
And tune thy jolly voice to my fresh pipe,
And all the daughters of the year shall dance!
Sing now the lusty song of fruits and flowers.

'The narrow bud opens her beauties to
The sun, and love runs in her thrilling veins;
Blossoms hang around the brows of Morning, and
Flourish down the bright cheeks of modest Eve,
Till clust'ring Summer breaks forth into singing,
And feather'd clouds strew flowers round her head.

'The spirits of the air live in the smells
Of fruit; and Joy, with pinions light, roves round
The gardens, or sits singing in the trees.'
Thus sang the jolly Autumn as he sat,
Then rose, girded himself, and o'er the bleak
Hills fled from our sight; but left his golden load.

I hope you all have a wonderful night filled with fun, friends, and creepy occurrences! :)

It's Been Awhile.....

Well hey there fellow bloggers! Sorry I've taken so long to write another post!  I hope you are all doing well and that your lives are being led in the direction you want them to.  If not, no need to worry; that's alright too :)

Some say that you have to create a vision of what you would like your life to be like in order to have  goals to reach.  I've found that not letting my imagination run wild is actually better because I'm not disappointed when things don't go exactly the way I had planned them.  I figured that coming back up to Utah State as a sophomore would make my life completely perfect and that things would go a million times better.  I mean, summer was great.  I made a lot of new friends, reunited myself with old friends, had a great job, made some good money,  lost weight, and came back up feeling on top of the world.  However, I'll admit that having the expectation that everything would be perfect was probably a bit overrated.  I haven't dated much, gained some weight back (curse you, chocolate! curse you!), classes are super hard (Business Stats, Economics, Management and Information Systems, Creative Arts.....), friendships have been hard to maintain back at home, living with people I don't know has been rough, and the guy I may or may not have a crush on hasn't been contacting me.  Okay, okay; now before I start sounding too pathetic I will get to the point.  As I gave myself a few smacks on the cheeks, stepped back and looked at the situation, and gathered my bearings, I realized that I AM ALRIGHT.  I live in a beautiful apartment with my best friend, have lots of friends, support and love from my wonderful parents, and am under the constant watch of my Heavenly Father.  Things will happen at the  right time, for the right reason, in the right manner.  I know that's cliche' but really, there is no need to stress about everything!  So, for all you worriers out there, take a minute to pause and recognize the little things that are going the direction they should.  There isn't a moment when absolutely everything is going awry! There is always something going the way it needs to, even if you don't want it that way. You will be just fine :)

Oh Grandma....

My dear sweet grandmother, Carmona, was over at my house yesterday.  We chatted as usual about work, school, and how my friends are doing.  After mentioning something about my car, Grandma screeched, "Wait!! You will never guess what happened to me the other day.  Get a load of this..."  Her eyebrows furrowed, she leaned over the table, and I knew a great story would ensue.  "You know all of that construction going on out on Bangerter Highway?" she asked.  "Well, I was turning left on a green arrow into the intersection, when traffic came to a complete halt.  I was totally stuck there! I couldn't move at all and there was nothing I could do about it.  Traffic slowly inched forward as the lights parallel to my car turned green.  I received every look ranging from utter disgust to complete understanding.  Just when I thought the ordeal was over, a rather ugly middle aged man rolled down his window and barked, "Get out of the way you stupid old grandma!"  I was so mad that I stuck my head right out the window and yelled, "Shut up, you stupid ignorant punk!" Then I did this..."  Grandma stood up with her fists at her side, arched her neck forward, and stuck her tongue out as far as she could.  With a nod of her head, she sat back down, folded her arms, and said, "Boy, did I show him!  No idiot on the street is going to call me a stupid old woman!"

All I know is that I want to be just like my grandmother when I get older!  That woman doesn't let ANYONE push her around!

My Chester Dog

Hello all! Yeah, I know its been awhile.  This month has been quite a downer! I know that's probably not the first thing you like to see as you begin reading a new post, but its just a fact.  On April 7th we had to put my beloved Chester dog to sleep.  He had been diagnosed with lymphatic cancer just three weeks previous and it was time to let him succumb to his obvious discomfort.  Chester had been with our family since 2004.  We adopted him from an agency that collected dogs who had been dropped from the schools where they tain animals to help the disabled.  From the moment we saw him, my family knew that this would be the animal who would fill the empty space our previous dog had left.  The rest is history!  He was literally the best dog we could have asked for.  Not only did he bring joy into our home, but helped heal our hearts from my mom's recent brain surgery.   From walks, to baths, and playing out in the yard, Chester was our ever faithful companion.  Now that he is gone, the space he once filled is twice as large.  I'm not sure it will ever be filled to capacity once again.  Here's to my best secret keeper, personal trainer, and lifelong friend.  I love you buddy! You are greatly missed.

Spring Breakage

Today starts my 10 day long SPRING BREAK!!! Yeah!! I know you're all probably wondering what crazy, stupid, amazing things I will be accomplishing over this vacation so let me tell you! First I will be spending my Saturday reading and reviewing my materials for an online nutrition exam that's due by midnight......... blah blah blah

~and then Tarah got distracted and forgot to finish this post~

Sorry about that.  However, I figured I'd catch you up on my Spring Break!  For the most part it was just as I predicted.  My dad just got a knee replacement, so I had to spend most of my days watching him while my mom was at work, I slept a lot, ate a bit, went running each day, and hung out with friends.  I also went to one of my best friend's farewell (the one on the left)!  It was like a freakin' jr. high reunion! haha.  It was nice to be with all of my old friends though.  I will tell you more about it in my next post :)

Lazy Dayz

Let's just say that today has been completely unproductive.  Since I don't have classes on Fridays and it's snowing like crazy outside, I decided to sleep in until 11:30, do some blog housekeeping, eat some food, check Facebook about 100 times, and spend the remainder of the day on the couch.  I think sometimes you just need one of those days where you tell yourself that you don't need to accomplish anything.  So, here I am.  Not accomplishing squat.

And I like it :)

Blizzard Tales

Ever since I got accepted to Utah State, people have been telling me about how bad the snow gets in the winter.  For the last couple of months, however, we have hardly received any snow or even very bad weather.  I was beginning to think that none of the stories were true....

Okay, okay.  I'll admit I was wrong.
Very, very wrong.

I guess we will just have to make the best of it and take some pictures!

I have no idea what the heck I'm doing....

Today marks the start of a new blogging beginning!  I'm new at this whole thing, so forgive me.  However, with the help of my best friend Sara Harris (you should check out her cute blog HERE), I have put together my page and will attempt to entertain you with the boring, stupid, hilarious, and simple events that shape my life.  Onward!!!
